Compensating Wrongfully Convicted Persons Study Committee
HR 1332 creates a House Study Committee on Compensating Wrongfully Convicted Persons. The Committee will be composed of five members appointed by the Speaker. At least two of the members will be from the minority party. The Speaker shall appoint one of the members to serve as chairperson. The Committee will create a report with a focus on the creation of a method for fairly and reasonably compensating wrongfully convicted persons. The report will be completed on or before December 1, 2014 and the committee will be abolished on December 1, 2014.
